On Friday November 27, 2009 Halton Hills Hydro celebrated 500,000 consecutive hours without any lost time injuries or accidents. The Electrical and Utility Safety Association (E&USA) president Dr. Ted Vandevis presented the President’s Award for 500,000 hours worked without lost time injury to the members of the Halton Hills Hydro Joint Health & Safety Committee. The award recognizes the strong commitment of all Hydro employees to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.

“Over the six and a half years our Health and Safety program has gained momentum …I think we’ve got a robust program that deals with employee well-being, both at work and at home,” said Art Skidmore, President, CEO of Halton Hills Hydro, adding it ties into Hydro’s mission statement which is to provide Halton Hills with electricity distribution excellence in a safe and reliable manner.
