Ontario’s Electricity Supply Mix

Electricity in Ontario is produced from a variety of sources. As the chart below displays, nuclear energy and water power provide the majority of electricity consumed in Ontario. Alternative power sources including wind and solar make up nearly 10% of the electricity consumed in the province.

The chart below displays the system-wide supply mix for 2017 which was published by the Ontario Energy Board on October 5, 2018.
